Поговорим о погоде

Итак, глагол то be усвоен в простых временах Present, Past и Future. Попробуем его привлечь для беседы о погоде, о которой так любят говорить англичане. Начинаем фразу с It is.. и добавляем слова, которые нужно будет выучить:

cold - холодно
warm - тепло
cool - холодно
hot - жарко
rainy - дождливо
foggy - туманно
frosty - морозно
windy - ветренно
sunny - солнечно

Теперь образцы простеньких диалогов:

- What is the weather like today?
- It is cold and windy.

- I think it will be warm tomorrow.
- I am sure it will be even hot.

- The weather was fine yesterday.
- Yes, it was frosty, but sunny.

В разговорной речи глагол to be чаще используется в сокращенной форме: it is = it's, they are = they're, I am = I'm

О временах года тоже нетрудно рассказать c помощью глагола to be после it. It is spring now. / Сейчас весна.
summer - лето
autumn -осень
winter - зима
spring - весна
